Wow, that’s a bold statement. I think you are right in a moral sense, but that does not seem to be true organizationally. It does tie in with my belief that what we now call “data” technologies will eventually be consolidated into something like “employee empowerment systems” https://ihack.us/2022/05/12/pitch-data-is-a-feature-not-a-product/

Decisions may be the means most data folks operate through, but I think there's some risk in those means becoming the ends. A great decision that isn't carried out, or is eroded by people not having faith in that decision, is no better than a bad decision. So I think there's some risk of people getting attached to decisions, and then washing their hands of any responsibility that they have to make that decision work.
