Yeah, there was a lot of "x days" until the election, or "only three more weekends (for canvassing) until the election. I think it was half to remind you when stuff was due, and half a countdown of when this was finally all over.
I saw the postings for analytics engineering for the campaign and thought (a) what crap pay that I (b) could partially rationalize as civic duty and (c) would be net positive life-story-ROI. Definitely sounds like a 'yes' on the latter.
I'd recommend it for the other reasons too, but if nothing else, it's definitely good enough to do for the story. Plus, if you join during the big hiring blitz in the summer, it's not that long of a thing, and it's really nice to see some part of the world that's not tech (or whatever industry you come from).
